Neighborhood Associates Communications (NAC) is a subcommittee of the Neighborhood Leadership Council. It was established to enable neighborhood groups to move into the 21st century of communications. In the past, some of our neighborhoods had a web presence and were linked to the City of Canton web site individually. As the number of neighborhoods has increased and neighborhood leadership has become a strong voice in the community, it has become necessary to create a site for the Neighborhood Leadership Council and its sub committees in order to simplify our links to the City of Canton as well as to make information readily available to neighborhood leaders..
Now all the neighborhoods are linked on a single site that is linked to the City of Canton and kept updated as the neighborhoods continue to grow. The site also allows for startup neighborhood groups to have a web presence with very little cost. As they grow and need large amounts of hosting space or want their own domain, they can branch out on their own and retain a link on this site.
NAC offers free training for a limited time to those who want to create their own web sites using NetObjects Fusion 10. Currently NAC provides a computer with that program loaded as well as Office 2008 so that neighborhoods can create their own newsletters. Software and equipment are available for use at the Stark Community Foundation. A printer / scanner / copier is also available on location for the use of neighborhood associates.
NAC maintains the Canton Neighborhoods web site with important communications. Check it often.
