Neighborhood Leadership

Neighborhood Associates Votes Empower (NAVE) is a subcommittee of the Neighborhood Leadership Council. It was established to represent the political issues that face the neighborhoods in the City of Canton. We work to keep our elected representatives informed of our concerns through visits to City Council, newsletters, and opportunities to communicate directly through events that bring the people of the community together with elected and appointed officials.

NAVE encourages the people in our communities to vote and provides training on the election process and the use of voting equipment. NAVE also provides a forum allowing the people in our neighborhoods the opportunity to meet and question elected officials and those running for office.

NAVE wheel gifNAVE represents itself as the hub (nave) of a wheel, from which the spokes (neighborhood organizations) reach out to the felloe (body of laws providing the structure of the city). The axle (elected and appointed officials) must work together with the NAVE, spokes, and hub to allow the wheels of community to turn smoothly.
